Best lens I own., February 16, 2012 This review is from: Zeiss Distagon 35MM F/1.4 ZE (Electronics) I've used lots of cameras and lots of lenses but this lens is by far one of the finest lenses I've ever used. This beats all the canon L glass by a long shot. If I don't absolutely need auto-focus or an extra long telephoto I shoot with Zeiss.
I'm not going to insult anyone by going into too much detail, if you're seriously considering purchasing this lens you probably know what you're getting into. Make sure to check out the Zeiss lens lineup at their website, they have example pics and technical details if you haven't looked into that already.
This lens has exceptional bokeh, perhaps the best I've ever seen, it's smooth and quite unique.
Perfectly sharp at f1.4, even Canon's L glass isn't this sharp wide open.
The only con to this lens is its weight, I think its worth it to get the shots I want, but if for some reason you want lite then look elsewhere.
Oh yea, also the lens cap sucks! Buy something to replace it... Read more
